Summer back home is hard to beat. The moment the plane landed in Miami I felt a surprising relief, for the first time in months everything was going to be easy! I knew how to navigate customs, had the right passport for the short line, everyone spoke American English, and my Pal was going to be waiting for me on the other end of that short line gate! What could be better after 22 hours of planes, trains and airports?…GREEN stuff! All the luscious green that the glorious ride home through the western edge of the Everglades had to offer. It had been so long since I’d seen so much green that it was almost too beautiful to absorb all at once. Everywhere I went, from Florida to Oregon, the wonderful aromatic green green grass of home and my extraordinary tribe of friends and family, the stuff home is made of.
It’s now the beginning of fall, and good to be back in Qatar. The weather is cooling, the daylight is longer and I look forward to all the events and activities that Doha and the surrounding area have to offer. As for the pending change of address, well, packing is becoming my new pet dislike!
